Product Description

Our duct insulation fasteners are precision-manufactured to secure fiberglass, mineral wool, elastomeric foam, and rigid foam boards to sheet metal ducts, pipes, and equipment. Designed for capacitor discharge (CD) welding, adhesive mounting, or mechanical fastening, each pin is engineered to provide maximum pull-out strength and long-term durability—even in high-vibration, high-humidity, or corrosive environments.

Self Adhesive Stick Pins & Perforated Base Insulation Pins:

Self Adhesive Stick Pins are the most commonly used for Commercial & Residential HVAC Systems, such as central air conditioning supply/return air ducts in office buildings, shopping malls, hotels, and hospitals, due to quick installation without requiring welding equipment;
CD Weld Pins & Cup Head Weld Pins:

CD weld pins (Capacitor Discharge weld pins) are among the most common fasteners for duct insulation—especially for sheet metal ducts where "permanent fixing, vibration resistance, and thick insulation" are required. It could used for:

1. External Duct Wrap: Fiberglass blankets, mineral/rock wool blankets, elastomeric foam wraps, and foil-faced insulation are secured to the exterior of galvanized sheet metal ducts by CD welding pins to the duct wall, then compressing them with self-locking washers or speed clips. Ideal for large-diameter ducts, thick insulation, and long-term air-handling vibration.

2. Internal Duct Liner: For acoustic cotton and sound-absorbing fiberglass liners, cup head pins penetrate the liner and are CD welded to the inner wall/shell of the duct. The cup head distributes pressure and prevents tearing of the liner material. Commonly used in commercial AHU supply/exhaust and low-noise systems.

3. Industrial Ventilation / Hot Air / Exhaust Ducts: Heavy-density rock wool, mineral wool, and ceramic fiber use thicker pin diameters (e.g., 10GA/3.4mm) and large cup heads (38mm). For high-temperature zones, select stainless steel based on the substrate and operating temperature—do not default to standard copper-plated mild steel.

4. Prefab Insulated Ducts / Equipment Housings: Factories use automatic pin welders or resistance welders to batch-weld cup head pins, allowing on-site insulation hanging and washer locking, saving significant labor.
